Femi Kuti - Beng Beng Beng

MusicLoad presents Femi Kuti - Beng Beng Beng

Here is a song with major groove and intensity. Femi's father, Fela Kuti, is well known as having been a deeply political artist, with Femi following in Fela's footsteps.  However, with this song, Femi takes it outside of politics and does something Ricky Martin could only dream of. This is pure sexy Cuban infused Nigerian soul that is like a universal language. Enjoy! GC

Avery*Sunshine - A Faulous Soul Artist with that "it" thing

I got lucky and came across Avery Sunshine last week. I first heard a studio version of her song entitled I've Got Sunshine and decided to go digging for more, spending a good hour or so listening to various YouTube clips and browsing her own MySpace.Com/AverySunshine page. I finally came across a stripped down version of I've Got Sunshine that was recorded on a single camera that must have been sitting on a tripod.

People that know me know that I gravitate towards artists who are un-manufactured and can lay it down with NO pomp, circumstance or slick production. Avery shows, in this video, that she can do that.

It gives me great pleasure to feature Avery*Sunshine. Enjoy! GC

Nneka - One of the hottest rising and truly global artists out there.

I had the privilege of meeting and chatting with one of my most favorite artists who I first heard back in early 2009 (read/hear Jan 2009 post) and immediately loved, musically. Her name is Nneka.

She and her music is political with depth. Nneka may not name names, but the political culprits she does sings of must know who they are. She does not mince words!

Nneka and her music has a activist substance that reminds me of few others, except for Bob Marley,

Her music has incredible edge, passion and truth at it's core.

The song in the video below is titled The Uncomfortable Truth. Enjoy! GC

Esperanza Spalding - A True Pure Jazz Heartist

MusicLoad.Com presents Esperanza Spalding

You may have already seen her on The Late Show with David Letterman or on Jimmy Kimmel Live and she has been in hundreds of places between here and there, even playing for heads of state and President Obama. But in this big bad world, artists who travel that wide can still remain too far under the radar. MusicLoad.Com is happy to be is just one more little venue for this inspired and gifted multi-genre jazz core artist.

Everything about Esperanza Spalding is a breath of fresh air. As a bassist myself, I appreciate any upright players who can sing and play upright at the same time and she takes it to a whole other level than most. Esperanza is as sweet and beautiful, as you will see in this local CBS TV interview and performance, as she is articulate with her vocals and jazz style. GC

Here is a great Esperanza Spalding performance as she plays electric bass and sings like a true jazz great on Jimmy Kimmel Live with her song entitled I Know You Know
