Frank Ruffino, the guitarist of the late 1970's early 80's punk band China White, just lost his battle with cancer.
The first time I saw China White was at a house party in Huntington Beach before I had a drivers license. It must have been 1977 or 1978. I rode my bike from Newport and I was scared, because HB was a lot more tough than Newport in those days. I was just a kid. China White played the most intense hard core music I'd ever heard at that time. Later when I saw the band in various clubs, their intensity was increased. It was a quite memorable great time when punk music took us all by storm. GC
