Mike wrote to his Facebook page: "We're in Meridian, Mississippi today, the birthplace of the great Jimmy Rogers (well, there's a plaque here that makes that claim, though hisrtorians identify Pine Springs, Mississippi, just north of Meridian, as his genuine birthplace). Rogers is acknowledged by many as "The Father of Country Music." Also, "The Blue Yodeler," and "The Singing Brakeman." His influence on all forms of Popular American Music, and all its genres was considerable."
