Just below is the latest new music video from SHEL, the amazing organic writing, singing and true instrumentalist group of four sisters from Fort Collins, Colorado. SHEL = Sarah (violin & vocals), Hannah (keys, squeezebox & vocals), Eva (mandolin and lead vocals) and Liza (drums, percussion and vocals).
Today, MusicLoad is happy to present the amazing and very organic Colorado based band of sisters known as SHEL and their free download offering of a song they wrote especially for Valentine's Day today. The song is titled Your Love Makes My Heart Sing.

By the way.... SHEL is Sarah (Violin - Vocals) Hannah (Keyboards-Accordion-Vocals), Eva (Mandolin-Vocals) and Liza (Drums-Percussion-Vocals)
Four fabulously talented sisters named Sarah (violin), Hannah (keyboards and squeezebox), Eva (Mandolin) and Liza (Drums) make up the group known as SHEL. They all write, arrange sing and play with exceptional skill with amazing vocal harmonies that are very real without special effects or auto tuning. Their studio recordings sound much like their un-lipsynced live performances, because these girls are not manufactured or polished by producers. In my opinion, the producers the band has worked with have done little more than press the record button, which is all the band needs. They are organic, pure and real.
The girls grew up in a music family. Their father towed them along to his own gigs when they were all young. They grew up listening to a very diverse selection of music. They have so many influences including rock bands such as Jethro Tull and in this song in particular, there is a little Led Zeppelin influence. Stained reminds me of Led Zep's song titled The Battle of Evermore, which SHEL separately did a nice cover of as well. Enjoy!
SHEL wrote this about their self produced/directed video: "On what felt like the coldest day of winter, we shot this video along the Harpeth River in Franklin, TN. We've been told this trail is part of the original Natchez Trace, which is why the road is worn far below the tree roots. This same area was a camp site during the The Battle of Franklin - the bloodiest battle of Civil War and it's near an ancient Native American village now called "Old Town" that dates back to the year 900...now that's some history!"
This is one of the most fantastic organic unmanufactured groups anywhere. SHEL is a group of four sisters named Sarah, Hannah, Eva and Liza. The first video below is one of their most recent music videos. Their songwriting, music arrangements, individual musicianship, sweet vocals and harmonies are the real deal!
SHEL - Lost at Sea
To illustrate how organic and unmanufactured SHEL really truely is, here is the same song again, performed live (in one take) on Second Story Garage with no special effects or overdubs. Bravo! :)
SHEL is a wonderful band of four sisters from Fort Collins, Colorado. The piece in the video below was performed by two of the sisters from SHEL as part of the theme for the upcoming magical story told with music, creative imagery and videos by the band. It's Eva Holbrook on the Weber Soprano Mandolin and her sister Hannah Holbrook on the Schoenhut Toy Piano. The above photo is of Eva on a typical day in her world.
SHEL is a band made up of the four Holbrook sisters from Colorado: Sarah (Violin), Hannah (Piano), Eva (Mandolin) and Liza (Drums). SHEL just completed their latest music video.
SHEL - The Man Who Was The Circus
And below are two recent live TV appearances of SHEL that happen to be fantastic recordings. Turn it up!
A special Holiday 2012 release by Hannah Holbrook of the super sister group known as SHEL. Hannah is on piano and lead vocals with her sister Eva on backing vocals and mandolin and Sarah Holbrook on violin and backing vocals. Enjoy! Merry Christmas! Peace
"SHEL is a group of sisters named Sarah, Hannah, Eva and Liza. They are one of the most inspired & organic rising bands anywhere in the world, live or in the studio."
One of my most favorite bands since I first heard them in 2008, SHEL is four amazingly talent sisters: Sarah, Hannah, Eva and Liza. The group writes and arranges amazing original songs and covers so many music genres it hard to pigeon hole their sound. Each song is pure organic bliss. GC

SHEL, a band of four sisters named Sarah, Hannah, Eva and Liza, is one of my absolute favorite rising bands out there. If you are in New York tonight, Monday April 2, 2012, please go see a free SHEL concert at Rockwood Music Hall at 7:30PM. It's sure to be a lovely show for all! And, if you want to get backstage, you can probably get there if you bring Sarah some ginger chews.
If you don't know about SHEL, here is a little bit about them. Enjoy!
This is SHEL (They have grown a lot since this video was made, but you'll get the idea)
SHEL - Toyland
I first learned about SHEL via Eva Holbrook after I had already fallen deeply in love with her music. She is a gifted songwriter, arranger, instrumentalist, and angelic vocalist. Eventually I learned of the group with her sisters who all share the same giftedness. Once I heard their whole band together, I knew I had landed in music heaven.
Eva Holbrook during the songwriting process on a song titled Heaven's Gate that was inspired by a Classic 30 Peavey amp she was borrowing.

My most favorite emerging band of all sisters known as SHEL (see one of SHEL's videos here) hooked up with the band of brothers known The Dunwells in Memphis at the Folk Alliance International conference. The video/lighting sucks, but the music is a delight.
Enjoy! GC
The fine all sister group SHEL really blows my mind. The four sisters, Sarah, Hannah, Eva and Liza are real musicians and they know how to put on a performance. Their music is not manufactured. SHEL is the opposite of a pop star creations from American Idol. They are crafting their own songs, writing the arrangements and playing all of the instruments. Sure, they have guests and collaborators, but the girls are in the driver's seat. So, it was the greatest news to hear, that the group has signed to Universal Republic Records, a Universal Music Group (UMG) company. In their video below, they signed their contracts with Jethro Tull blasting in the background. Too cool. GC
SHEL - Signing the deal with Universal Republic Records
Came across the fabulous band known as SHEL by random luck when I fell in love with the solo material of Eva Hollbrook. We are talking about extremely gifted, remarkable talent in all areas of songwriting, mastery of multiple instruments, an angelic voice with impeccable harmonies and so much more. Eva's music led me to hear SHEL, a band with her three sisters who share the same genes of talent.
SHEL is Sarah, Hannah, Eva and Liza. SHEL's latest music video is of their track entitled The Latest and Greatest Blueberry Rubber Band. If you have children, they will be mesmerized by videos like this one too. Enjoy! (Gregory J. Chamberlain)

The Colorado based band, SHEL, is not just talented. This group of four sisters is very gifted.
Having spent their earliest childhood years with their singer/songwriter/guitarist father, they themselves are now firmly in the artist's seat.
The music of SHEL is a mixture of serious angelic pop vocals mixed with a blend of gypsy mountain classical rock and jazz.
They just don't sound like anyone else to compare them to.
Each arrangement is simply exquisite and unique.
SHEL's music is pure bliss and synchronistic harmony that perhaps only sisters from the same womb could possibly achieve. At present, MusicLoad.Com is proud to have the privilege of being able to offer up a free mp3 of a beautiful SHEL song entitled Nicolo. (Sorry - the song is not available at this time) The song is a beautiful pop classical lullaby that defies further description. Just check it out!
